Lora
S. Irish and Mike Irish are the owners of Classic
Carving Patterns.
We enjoy a wonderful rural setting in the foothills of the Maryland
Appalachian
Mountains where our home studio is based and where we live with our
five domestic shorthair felines ... beloved barn cats!
We are also the owners of Fine
Art Dog Prints, an
art prints gallery
featuring over 62 of the World's top canine artists and over
1000 Limited Edition Fine Art Prints.
Currently we are members of The
National Wood Carvers Association,
the WoodCarvers
Digest and the Wood
Carvers Illustrated Message Board.
Lora is an accomplished oil canvas artist, colored pencil artist, pyrographer,
crafts and patterns designer and book author,
as well as a
National recognized wood
carver. She is a Contributing Editor of
Wood Carving Illustrated Magazine.
Michael is the studio webmaster as well as a fine furniture wood worker
with a strong background in wood working tools and equipment.
Together we enjoy teaching wood carving and wood burning on the
internet.
Our focus is on the beginning crafter and helping them discover the
fun of wood crafts. Our art gallery, Art Designs Studios, began in
1982 and was
introduced to the internet as a print and pattern studio in 1997.
By 1998 our studio had grown to become two independent websites and
we are still growing, each and every day.
